Sunday Funday

Sunday Funday

I woke up in the afternoon after being up half the night due to pain. I had received a call from Walgreens about a prescription I refilled last week but didn’t pickup. I had to pick it up today. My mother called me because she was in pain and needed her walker. I got her that and then left for the store. After I was rung up, I talked to the pharmacist about CVS’s new opioid policy as I might be affected. He said that because I am long term, it shouldn’t affect me. I felt better about that and headed home.

I got home and the front door was open. I could have swore I closed it when I left the house. I climbed the stairs and there was commotion going on upstairs as my door was also open. I took off my brace and went up. Everyone was surrounding my mother and I was like what the fuck is going on. Apparently, after I left, my mother got cramps in her leg so bad that she couldn’t move. She was in agony. She had called my sister for help and she was still in a lot of pain even though the cramps had subsided.

Because the pain was in the back of her knee, I was worried about a blood clot or something so we finally convinced her to go to the hospital. We called an ambulance and took her. We spent four hours there. Thankfully there was no clot and the doc just thought it was inflammation. They gave her some pain medication and sent her home via ambulance as he didn’t want her going up the stairs. I rode in the ambulance home so the driver would know exactly what streets to go down. My sisters were waiting out front. I went to grab some food from next door as they were having a Patriots party. Everyone there was lit, including my neighbor. By the time I was done with my food and listening to the various conversations, my ankle was acting up. I told everyone I was going home and said my goodbyes.

I checked on my mother when I got home. My sister was still with her. She was still in pain but not as much. She has to sleep downstairs tonight. My sister made up the couch for her. I am not sure how much sleep she will have. I went up to my room to take my meds and cool off my room. It was stuffy as I had shut the door to keep the cool air in. It’s still hot but is cooling off slowly. My ankle is now hurting and I don’t remember or recorded the time I took my pain meds before heading to the hospital. Probably going to hurt all night because I had my leg in a sitting down or standing the whole time I was at the hospital with my mom. Fuck.

same shit different cold bleak day

Same shit different cold bleak day

I woke up around 6 and didn’t feel well. My back and ankle were hurting pretty bad. I took some meds and played with my phone. It was too early to go anywhere and I didn’t want to spend all day at Starbucks. My psych had moved the appt up to noon. It was raining out and windy. Jose was blearing. I went to lie down for a few hours before I had to catch the bus. That is when my back gave out and I just said fuck it, I’m not leaving the house. I emailed my psych and canceled the appt.

I’ve been sleeping on and off all day. My mother called around supper time but she made something I didn’t like and then got mad that I wasn’t going to eat it. Whatever. I didn’t want to move. I hadn’t eaten anything all day. I really wasn’t hungry. My mood was in the abyss and I didn’t care if it stayed there or not. I thought about killing myself at least a hundred times. Thing was, I couldn’t move too good with my back hurting so trying to end it today just wasn’t going to happen. That just made me more depressed.

I must have chewed the inside of my cheek while sleeping because it’s really sore. I’m feeling kind of irritable. My mood just sucks. I feel like I am on a lethal path. I just want to sleep.

a night of no sleep but baked during the day

A night of no sleep but baked during the day
I didn’t go to sleep till around 6 or 7 am. Pain was keeping me up. Different parts of my foot kept acting up. It was making me very restless. Around 0500, I was contemplating calling my psych because I didn’t know what else to do. I had taken all the meds I could take, with no relief. I finally took another Ativan and that seemed to settle me down along with exhaustion.

I slept until my med alarm went off around 1130. An hour later, my mother called wanting me to help her with something. She was making chicken soup and needed help with preparation of the vegetables and stuff. I had to help load the pan on the stove as her legs were bothering her so much she couldn’t lift it. I kept having to go downstairs to get somethings from my sister’s apartment that we didn’t have.

I then decided to shred the zucchini for the bread. I would start making it when my mother was done with the soup to let it cook. I made coffee while she was putting stuff in the soup and helped her with making the meatballs. I haven’t rolled meatballs since I was a kid. It was fun.

After that was done, I started preparing my baking. I got out the stuff I needed and went to work. I tried not to make a mess but I did. It was really muggy in the kitchen so when my mother left to watch TV in the other room, I opened the back door to let the cool air in. I baked the bread at the modified temp and cooked it longer than what the recipe called for. It was the second time making this so I knew what to expect.

My ankle was hurting and I needed to take my pain meds so I went up to my room. I still had a half hour before the bread was done. I need to take a shower as I got flour all over my shirt. I’ll do that before I go to bed tonight. Maybe it will help me sleep better. The bread was done and I let it cool. As it did so, I started washing the things in the sink. My back did not like that at all. The cool rainy weather is wreaking havoc on my spine. It’s supposed to be like this for another day. I am hurting big time and it’s not even 1900 yet. I just hope I don’t have a long night ahead of me. It will suck big time.

PCP, More Pain, and other things

PCP more pain and other things

I had about 2 hours sleep last night. I woke up to see my PCP. The bus was running late. I got to the Square around 0700, which left me an hour for the appt. I had reloaded my Starbuck card with the cash I was saving for take out. I need my espresso more than pizza. One the way to the Square, I ordered my drink and a donut. I didn’t feel like eating a breakfast sandwich as I wasn’t that hungry. I got 6 shots of espresso to keep me awake. I was really drowsy.

The doc was late. Guess his kids didn’t want to go to school. I don’t blame them. We talked and I told him why I was there. He then examined my ankle. It didn’t hurt too bad as it was still in the early part of the morning. He was reluctant to send me to OT, occupational therapy, but did refer me to physical therapy. I am not sure if I am going to go that route or not. The last time I tried it, it hurt me more than helped me. He gave me the PT prescription and I left.

I was too tired by that point to form sentences. I just wanted to get home and sleep. My mother was home and it took me a while to lay down. When I did, holy moly, my ankle and foot hurt worse than it ever did. I was seeing stars. I was clenching my jaw so much, my teeth were hurting. I emailed my psych about this. Then I emailed my PCP the same message. Some how I managed about 2 hours of sleep. It was tough because I basically couldn’t touch my ankle and neither could the sheet. It got really cold despite it being warm in my room so I put on a thermal sock. I tried sleeping on my back with my head reclined but that was a no go. I had to sleep on my side. After taking both pain meds and an Ativan, I was starting to settle down. I kept on imagining other things to distract myself while the meds went to work. It was hard because I got so panicky. I knew my mother was going to call me so I blocked her. I then fell asleep.

While I slept, she called twice. She made some pasta so I had some. I really wanted my Salisbury steak dinner so I made that. It was the only things I had all day. I drank two big glasses of iced tea. I’ll probably have to keep going to the bathroom now.

That’s all I have for today. Think I am going to try and sleep some more.
